Donegal: Pensioner hit by van is ninth road death since July

A man in his 80s has died after being hit by a van near Clonmany in County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.

It happened on the R238 road at Annagh at about 18:20 on Wednesday, gardaí (Irish police) said.

A spokesperson said arrangements would now be made for a post-mortem examination and the local coroner had been notified.

The man is the ninth person to be killed on the roads in County Donegal since mid-July.
