Donegal: Male pedestrian critical after hit-and-run

A man is in a critical condition following a hit-and-run incident in Clonmany, County Donegal, in the early hours of Sunday.

Gardaí (Irish police) said that at about 00:15 BST, a pedestrian in his 60s was struck by a vehicle which left the scene.

He was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital and transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, has been arrested and remains in custody.
