Domestic violence: Dog fostering helps people escaping abuse

“When you’re retired or semi-retired, you need a purpose in life still.”

Judith and Mark foster dogs for women escaping domestic violence and care for their pets while they find a safe place to live.

They are part of the Dogs Trust’s Freedom service and said caring for dogs brings them real joy.

The charity helps people by offering free dog fostering for people fleeing domestic abuse.

“We have the joy of knowing that we’re helping someone in a difficult situation,” Judith said.
