Domestic abuse victim confronts ex-partner after he breaks in

A woman who was abused by her ex-husband has said his behaviour escalated in the days before he broke into her home at night.

Ceri Owen took out a will and life insurance fearing she would die at his hands.

He admitted assault, controlling and coercive behaviour and stalking involving serious alarm and was jailed for three years and two months in February 2023.

The UK government has pledged to clamp down hard on perpetrators of domestic violence, with the minister for victims likening them to “terrorists”.
