Disabled Cardiff bride overwhelmed as bus takes her to wedding

Speaking on BBC Radio Wales Drive, Sarah said “it was fantastic” the many people that contacted her after her appeal.

“I had people offering their own vehicles where they had family members who are in wheelchairs but also companies who adapt the vehicles – people coming from far and wide,” she said.

Following the appeal, Cardiff Bus contacted Sarah and offered to take her and her bridal party to the wedding.

“The communication and getting there was absolutely amazing. It [the bus] came and said congratulations Sarah and Jamie.

“It was amazing to have all my bridesmaids there and my father. He was a little taken back by the fact he was taking me on a bus but it was just fantastic.

“The driver of the bus knew exactly how special the day was. He messaged me from outside saying ‘hi Sarah your chariot awaits’,” she said.

Sarah said the day “was very special” and she and her new husband were looking forward to their honeymoon.

“The wedding was just beautiful, I enjoyed every moment.

“The weather was absolutely perfect, the guests just had the best time,” she said.
