Flash floods in northwest Pakistan have destroyed homes, swept away vehicles and left widespread destruction.

At least 314 people have been killed in flooding since Friday, with the majority of fatalities recorded in Pakistan’s Buner district.

Officials say Buner was hit by a cloudburst – a rare phenomenon in which more than 100mm (4 inches) of rain fell on the area within an hour.
