Dagenham: Boy, 17, arrested after man dies in house fire

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in a house fire in east London.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Oval Road North, Dagenham, on Saturday afternoon and, having forced their way in, found the body of a man in his 70s.

The Met Police said the 17-year-old boy was in police custody.

Another male, who was arrested in connection with the investigation, has been released on bail pending further inquiries, the force added.
