Child dies at beauty spot after incident in water

A child has died at a Cornwall beauty spot after an incident in the water.

Emergency services were called to Wacker Quay at Antony, Torpoint, after concerns were raised for a person in the water at about 18:00 BST on Saturday.

Wacker Quay forms part of the Tamar Valley landscape and provides free public access to the River Lynher.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the child died at the scene and their death is not being treated as suspicious.
