Interim manager Martin O’Neill says Celtic’s Scottish Premiership match at Hibernian on Sunday is unlikely to be his final game in caretaker charge.
The legendary Celtic boss returned to the club last month following Brendan Rodgers’ shock resignation.
Columbus Crew head coach Wilfried Nancy is expected to replace O’Neill, who has won five of his six games during his interim spell.
The 73-year-old had thought the trip to Easter Road would be his final fixture, but says there is now a “strong possibility” he will lead the team for Wednesday’s match at home to Dundee.
“I thought it was going to be my last game, but I got news yesterday that the process is still ongoing,” O’Neill told BBC Scotland.
“It’s something to do with paperwork, I didn’t go into the ins and outs of it.
“There’s a strong possibility I will be in charge for Wednesday’s game and I think that’s definitely it.
“The process is ongoing, but that should materialise next week.”
