“There’s some interest in Oh, so again we’ll assess that as a club and just manage that,” Rodgers said after Friday’s 1-1 friendly draw away to Ayr United.

“But you’ll see tonight, his attitude is great and he had a good 45 minutes and worked hard. Let’s see what the coming days bring on that one.”

Celtic continue their search for a replacement first-choice goalkeeper after veteran former England international Joe Hart decided to retire.

“It’s certainly one of the areas we need to improve and we’ve know that since Joe said he was leaving,” Rodgers said. “A bit of time, but we hope to have that done by the start of the season – that’s for sure.”

Again, the Celtic manager would not be drawn on the possibility of being reunited with 37-year-old Kasper Schmeichel, with whom he worked at Leicester City and who is a free agent after a season with Anderlecht.

“There’s lots of names flying about – I just want a good one,” Rodgers said. “Kasper is a very good one. I know him well, but there are lots of names and I’m clearly not going to tell you what those names are.”

Celtic have yet to make a summer signing, but Rodgers is hopeful of adding to his squad before their pre-season trip to United States in a fortnight.

“The players we want are targeted – we know what we want,” he added. “We could have had nine players in now if we wanted, but it’s all about the right players that we want to improve the squad.

“Sometimes that takes a little patience. There’s always a collaboration between ourselves and another club to get the players we want.

“But I’m very hopeful that, by the end of the window, we’ll have a very strong squad and will be ready and prepared for an exciting season.”
