A curious cat is getting lots of fuss and attention after he was rescued from being stuck at the top of a 33ft (10m) tree for three days.

Casper, an eight-month-old kitten, decided to go exploring from his Bedford home, and chose to test out a neighbour’s large pine tree.

Tauseef Nawaz, his owner, said the family noticed he had gone walk-about at about 15:00 GMT on Monday, and after following his meows discovered he had gone for a high climb.

Despite valiant efforts from firefighters and one tree surgeon, who were both unable to reach the adventurer, another tree surgeon arrived on Thursday morning, who Casper clung onto as he was brought down to safety.
