Carly Davies: Nottingham Forest Women part company with head coach

Nottingham Forest Women have parted company with head coach Carly Davies after almost three years in charge.

Forest finished seventh in WSL 2 this season, a year on from their promotion and Women’s National League Cup double.

Davies was under contract until the summer of 2027, having agreed an extension to her original deal in November 2024.

“The current campaign in the second tier has seen the team finish mid-table in a competitive league and after careful consideration, as the team continues to push towards the WSL, the club has made the decision to begin a fresh cycle under new management,” said a statement., external

“Everyone at Nottingham Forest sincerely thanks Carly for her dedication, commitment and professionalism, recognising her significant contribution to the club’s recent upwards trajectory and success.”

Davies previously helped coach the England Under-19 team and had a spell as assistant manager at West Bromwich Albion.

Forest won nine of their 22 games this season, including three out for four before their final-day home loss to Southampton.
