Carlos Tuimavave: Hull FC centre to leave at end of season

Hull FC centre Carlos Tuimavave is to leave the Super League club at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old New Zealander joined the Black and Whites for the 2016 season and was part of the team who won successive Challenge Cup finals in 2016 and 2017.

He has made 161 Super League appearances and is the club’s fourth-highest overseas appearance-maker of all-time.

“I originally signed a three-year contract at the age of 23, but things work out differently to what you plan, and I have no regrets,” he told the club website, external.

“It’s mixed emotions for me at the moment, but it’s the right time to move on. I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved.

“My family love Hull FC as much as I do. My kids know no different, they love this club.”

Tuimavave’s exit, along with the retirement of club legend Danny Houghton, means that none of the players who were part of their double Challenge Cup success will still be at the club next season.

The pair will end their time with the side on the back of a hugely disappointing campaign in which they have won only three times with two matches to play.
