Cardiff: Thefts, threats and violence on ‘best high street’

It raised some eyebrows when Cardiff’s Queen Street was crowned Britain’s Best High Street.

And now shop workers have revealed some of the reasons why they think it is “unworthy” of the title, including shoplifting, threatening behaviour and even violence.

Businessman Geraint had £25,000 of stock stolen from his shop Queen Street Vapes – and posted a video on social media appearing to show three people stealing items.

“I have considered selling up and cutting my losses,” he said.
