Bus crash in Iran kills 28 Pakistani pilgrims

A bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims overturned in Iran, killing 28 passengers, Iranian state media report.

The crash happened on Tuesday night in the central Iranian province of Yazd, reports say.

Another 23 passengers were injured – 14 of them suffering serious injuries, reports citing a local emergency official on the state-run IRNA news agency say.

The pilgrims were on their way to Iraq to commemorate a Shiite saint who died in the 7th century, according to AP news agency.
