Brazil: Eight dead in hot air balloon crash, says state governor | World News

At least eight people have died after a hot air balloon crashed in Brazil, according to the governor of Santa Catarina state.

Jorginho Mello said on X that 21 people had been on board.

He said there were 13 survivors and rescue workers were at the scene in Praia Grande.

Mr Mello said: “Our teams continue to provide all necessary support to families and victims.

“We continue to monitor the situation.”
