Billy Young: Cornish Pirates prop signs new contract

Cornish Pirates prop Billy Young is the latest player to agree new terms to stay with the Champ club for the 2026-27 season.

The 26-year-old loosehead has played 53 times for Pirates since joining the club in 2023 after then-Championship champions Jersey Reds went bust.

“He’s a real pillar of our scrum and student of the game,” joint-head coach Alan Paver told the club website.

“He’s really developed since arriving and he’s a formidable guy.

“He’s worked extremely hard on his collision, especially in the carry, he’s a great addition for next season which allows us continuity in the scrum.”

Young is the sixth player to sign a new deal this week – hooker Morgan Nelson, lock Josh King, winger Arthur Relton, fly-half Arwel Robson and full-back Angus Mawson have also agreed new contracts.
