Belfast disorder: Man charged with 28 offences

A 22-year-old man has been charged with 28 offences, including four counts of riot, four counts of arson and one count of arson with intent to endanger life.

Police say the charges relate to public disorder in Broadway in Belfast on 15 and 16 July and arson attacks on businesses and property in south Belfast on 3 August.

The charges also include one count of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.

The man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court later on Tuesday.
