Bedford Police track stolen pickup truck hidden in flooded field

A police drone and some off-road driving by officers through floodwaters have helped locate a stolen pick-up truck hidden among bushes in a field.

Bedfordshire Police’s Rural Crime Action Team located the Toyota Hilux close to the A421 south of Bedford on Tuesday.

The force said the vehicle was recovered intact and had been returned to its owner.

It added that pick-up trucks and 4x4s remained high value targets for organised criminal groups.
