A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a Wales-bound train hit a tractor and trailer on a level crossing in Herefordshire.

The crash happened near Leominster at about 10:45 BST with a male passenger being airlifted to Hereford County Hospital, although his injuries were not life-threatening, West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said.

British Transport Police (BTP) said a 32-year-old man from Bromyard had been arrested on suspicion of endangering safety on the railway.

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch said a team of inspectors was at the site where the Transport for Wales train crashed.

BBC Wales reporter Craig Duggan explains more.
