Ballymoney: House damaged in suspected petrol bomb attack

A house in Ballymoney has been damaged in an arson attack in the early hours of Friday.

Police said they received a report at about midnight that a suspected petrol bomb had been thrown at a property in the Carnany Drive area.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which had caused some smoke damage to the property.

One person was in the house at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Det Insp Hanbidge said: “There were properties on either side of the property, so the attack could have potentially endangered other people and their homes.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
