Mae Cyngor Gwynedd wedi cadarnhau bod athro o ysgol yn y sir wedi cael ei wahardd.
Yn gynharach yr wythnos hon dywedodd Heddlu’r Gogledd bod dyn o Borthmadog wedi ei arestio ar amheuaeth o gwrdd â phlentyn ar ôl meithrin perthynas rywiol ond pwysleisiodd y cyngor na allan nhw gadarnhau na gwadu’r wybodaeth honno.
Mae’r dyn wedi ei ryddhau ar fechnïaeth amodol tra bod ymholiadau Heddlu’r Gogledd yn parhau.
Dywedodd yr heddlu nad oes modd iddyn nhw wneud sylw pellach am fod yr ymchwiliad yn mynd rhagddo.
Ychwanegodd Cyngor Gwynedd mewn datganiad: “Ni fyddai’n briodol i’r Cyngor na’r ysgol dan sylw wneud sylwadau pellach nes bod yr holl ymchwiliadau perthnasol wedi’u cwblhau.
“Gallwn gadarnhau bod yr holl weithdrefnau amddiffyn plant perthnasol yn cael eu dilyn.”
