Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC are considering former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou as their next manager.

Current LAFC boss Steve Cherundolo is leaving the club at the end of the MLS season to return to Germany, where he spent his playing career.

Postecoglou was sacked by Spurs just 16 days after a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao secured Spurs’ first major trophy for 17 years.

He paid the price for a poor domestic campaign in which his side finished 17th in the Premier League, with former Brentford boss Thomas Frank brought in to replace him.

The MLS regular season ends in October and LAFC are sixth in the Western Conference. The nine highest-placed teams in each conference make the MLS play-offs.

Postecoglou has also been linked, external with a job in the Saudi Pro League at Asian Champions League winners Al Ahli, where German Matthias Jaissle has been manager since July 2023.
