A man has pleaded guilty to the murders of three of his younger siblings in Dublin.
Andy Cash admitted killing his 18-year-old sister Lisa Cash and his eight-year-old twin brother and sister, Christy and Chelsea Cawley in 2022.
He attacked them in the home they shared in Rossfield Avenue, Tallaght.
Cash, now 26 years old, spoke only to answer “guilty” when the three murder charges were read to him in Dublin’s Central Criminal Court.
There was a stand-off when Gardaí (Irish police) responded to the fatal attack in the early hours of 4 September 2022, a previous hearing in the case was told.
Officers from Tallaght Garda station were accompanied at the scene by armed detectives and members of an armed support unit.
Non-lethal devices were used to achieve an arrest.
Other members of the children’s family were present in court for Tuesday’s hearing.
A defence barrister told the judge that his client could be arraigned on all counts on the indictment.
As he pleaded guilty to the three murders, Cash is expected to receive a mandatory life sentence.
