Aberdeen home care staff made potentially serious medicine errors

Incident reporting was also criticised during the visit in August.

It was found a recent incident should have been immediately reported to police, but this was not done until a day later.

Aidan Severino, Cornerstone’s branch leader for South Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, said increased training and support for staff with medication has been put in place.

He added: “The Care Inspectorate have now been for a follow up visit and whilst we have yet to receive formal feedback, we are confident we have met all these requirements.”

More robust incident investigation and reporting protocols have also been implemented.
