Aaron Ramsey unsure of future after Cardiff caretaker boss stint

The former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder added: “But I love being in this role. I think the players have really bought into it. It’s been a real joy to be in this role. I don’t know is the answer. We’ll see.”

The defeat at Norwich was Ramsey’s first in charge having overseen two draws.

Relegation was all but inevitable by the time he had been handed the reins, with predecessors Riza and Erol Bulut both sacked over the course of a dire season.

Plenty have tipped Ramsey for a bright future in coaching, including his Wales boss Craig Bellamy.

And although Ramsey has shown promise during his short time at the helm with Cardiff, he still wants to play and has previously said he intends to continue long enough to represent Wales at the 2026 World Cup should they qualify.

While appearing to distance himself from becoming Cardiff manager for the time being, Ramsey has also said he wants the club to appoint the next boss quickly.

“I’m sure those discussions will come,” he added.

“This club has so much potential and this is a step back for it to go on two or three.

“It’s been a good two weeks even though there’s the massive disappointment in going down. There are some positives to take.”
