Dywedodd Islwyn, a gafodd wybod ei fod wedi ennill y fedal yn ystod ymarfer côr, nad oedd yn “gwybod beth i feddwl” ar y dechrau a’i fod wedi ei “ddal allan yn gyfan gwbl”.
“Mae’n anrhydedd o’r mwyaf i’w gael a beth mae’r wobr yn ei olygu a’r rhai sydd wedi ei dderbyn ar hyd y blynyddoedd,” meddai.
Wrth gyflwyno enwebiad Islwyn Evans am yr anrhydedd dywedodd Iwan Griffiths: “Mae’n amhosib mesur yr oriau ychwanegol y mae Islwyn yn eu rhoi heb ofyn am yr un geiniog.
“Mae’r hyn sy’n cael ei gynnig o fewn cymuned Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion hefyd yn fwy na hyfforddiant lleisiol.
“Mae’n rhoi gofod diogel lle mae plant a phobl ifanc yn meithrin hyder, cael cyfle i fynegi eu hunain, a datblygu ymdeimlad o berthyn.”
Bydd Islwyn Evans yn derbyn Medal Goffa Syr TH Parry-Williams ar lwyfan y Pafiliwn am 12:00 ddydd Mawrth, 4 Awst.
