Exeter Chiefs have signed Wales hooker Carys Phillips for the 2026-27 Premiership Women’s Rugby season.

The 33-year-old, who joins from Harlequins, has played in four Women’s World Cups and won 87 caps for Wales since making her debut in 2013.

She recently followed in the footsteps of her father Rowland when she played for the Barbarians, becoming the first daughter and father to play for the famous team.

Phillips is the second Wales forward to move to Sandy Park this month after prop Maisie Davies agreed a move.

“With the departure of Emily Tuttosi at the end of last season, Carys will bring that same kind of experience to our squad,” Exeter Chiefs Women’s assistant coach Oli Bishop told the club website., external

“She is also very familiar with our league from her time with Quins.”
