Monmouthshire dominatrix’s tech company combats revenge porn

A professional dominatrix said repeatedly seeing her private explicit images leaked by clients led her to set up a company to combat revenge porn.

Madelaine Thomas, who lives in Monmouthshire, described them as “beautiful pictures”, but said they had been “used against me by someone who I don’t know”.

Ms Thomas, 37, said she felt “angry enough to do something about it” and turned to technology for answers.

Her company Image Angel uses invisible forensic watermarking to track abusers, and has already won several awards and has been recommended as best practice in Baroness Bertin’s independent pornography review earlier this year.

Intimate image abuse, often referred to as revenge porn, is a criminal offence, with perpetrators facing up to two years in prison.
