Wigan Warriors second-rower Emily Veivers will be out for 14 weeks after breaking her arm during their Women’s Challenge Cup victory at Wembley.

The 24-year-old was one of seven try-scorers during the Cherry and Whites’ win over St Helens and helped them to their first competition win.

Veivers was forced off with an arm injury and will now undergo surgery to plate the fracture together. She will likely miss the rest of the season.

“We’re really disappointed to lose Emily for a period with injury now, she’s been one of our standout players and has added real value to the squad,” head coach Denis Betts said., external

“We wish her a smooth recovery and hope to see her back as soon as we can and hope that she can return with the form she has shown so far this season.”
