Eamon O’Carroll: St Helens appoint ex-Bradford coach as assistant

St Helens have appointed former Bradford Bulls head coach Eamon O’Carroll as assistant.

The 37-year-old former Ireland international led the Bulls to third in the Championship in 2024 but left at the end of the campaign.

He is the second appointment to the Saints coaching team behind head coach Paul Wellens for 2025 after Lee Briers also joined as an assistant.

“I’m really excited and honoured to be joining a club of the stature of St Helens,” O’Carroll told the club website., external

“I think Lee and I work very similar, we are about high energy and want to get a buzz around the boys, help them develop and drive standards.

“We all had a meeting the other day and spoke about a few things, I got such good vibes immediately, so we’ll work really well together.”
