A simple three-bedroom home in rural south west Wales is the UK’s most viewed property of 2025, according to data from Zoopla.

Located just outside the village of Pencader, Carmarthenshire, the detached house has attracted more views than any other on the property sales website this year, reflecting a growing appetite for countryside living.

It is listed at £230,000 – around £40,000 below the average UK house price – and features two bathrooms, a farmhouse-style kitchen and rural views from every window.

Listing agent John Francis describes it having solar panels and ample garden space “ideal for growing vegetables or keeping chickens”, while remaining close to the village.

Pencader is a community of around 500 homes, with amenities that include a shop, primary school and a chip shop cafe.

The town of Carmarthen lies nine miles (14.5km) away, while the Ceredigion coastline is roughly 12 miles (19km) from the property.

Zoopla allows people to browse properties or flats for sale or rent in each area of the UK.

Its annual review indicates that 2025 buyers were more eager than ever to swap urban convenience for peace and self-sufficiency, with “Garage” and “Annexe” being the most popular search terms in 2025, replacing “Freehold” as last year’s frontrunner.

Three-bedroom terraced houses remained the most-viewed property type overall, with Zoopla noting their continued appeal due to affordability, flexibility and suitability for families, even amid fluctuating buyer confidence.

While the most viewed of 2025 may be fairly modest, the second most viewed certainly is not.

It is a luxurious six-bedroom villa complete with an indoor “leisure wing” that includes a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym, and also a floodlit multi-sport pitch.

It is in Prestwick, Scotland, and priced at £1.8m.

On Zoopla’s social media, the year’s most popular listing was another Welsh property – Doris from Gavin & Stacey’s terraced home in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.

Listed for £220,000, the property on the famous hilly street featured an open-plan lounge and diner, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

It was purchased by Lisa Molloy, a self-described “massive fan” of the show, who plans to rent it out as a holiday let.
