Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will miss Northamptonshire’s three remaining County Championship games after returning home for personal reasons.
The 35-year-old from India took 12 wickets in three Division Two appearances this season.
It followed a four-game spell in 2024 when he picked up 19 wickets.
Northants are semi-finalists in the T20 Blast but are next to bottom in the Championship, having won only two of their 11 matches.
They will be at home to Glamorgan in the next round of games, starting on Monday.
