Is this a mysterious otherworld figure lurking beneath the mountain?
No, it is in fact a Brocken spectre optical illusion of someone’s shadow projected onto low cloud.
The eerie figure was spotted by Lauren Wood, a mountain leader from Menai Bridge, Anglesey, as she was walking on Crib Goch in Eryri, also known as Snowdonia.
“Until you’ve seen one, you don’t realise what an incredibly powerful experience it is,” she said.
