Women’s FA Cup: Ipswich win through to face Manchester City

Ipswich Town set up a Women’s FA Cup fourth-round trip to three-time winners Manchester City by beating Bournemouth 1-0 at Felixstowe.

Sophie Peskett scored the only goal, just before half-time, from Kyra Robertson’s pass, but also hit the crossbar twice during the game.

Joe Sheehan’s side play in National League Southern Premier, two levels below Women’s Super League in which City were beaten 2-1 at Everton on Sunday.

Ipswich have lost in the fourth round in the past two seasons, to Charlton Athletic and Lewes, but made it all the way to the quarter-finals in 2022 before being beaten 1-0 by WSL side West Ham.

In other FA Cup replays, Bristol Rovers won 3-2 at Oxford United and Blackburn Rovers defeated Kidderminster Harriers 4-0.

The fourth round ties will be played on 12 January and Rovers will be away to Aston Villa, while Blackburn host Portsmouth.
