Woman dies in Clapton crash as her car hits bus

A woman has died after the car she was driving crashed into a stationary bus in Clapton, east London.

The Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene of the collision on Lea Bridge Road at about 06:50 GMT on Saturday.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment, but died a short time later.

No-one else was seriously hurt in the accident and the driver’s next of kin have been informed.
