Woman dies following three-vehicle crash

A woman in her 60s has died following a three-vehicle crash in County Donegal.

It happened on the N25 at Moonameen at about 14:10 local time on Sunday.

The woman, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, her body has been removed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Meanwhile, three other people were taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The driver and passenger of the second car, a man and woman aged in their 50’s, were taken to University Hospital Waterford.

A woman in her 60s, the driver of a third car, was taken by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

The road is currently closed and gardaí (Irish police) are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
