Woman charged after car crashes into Edinburgh basement

A woman has been charged over a road traffic offence after a car crashed into an Edinburgh basement.

Police were called to Rutland Square at about 13:35 and the female driver was taken to hospital to be checked over.

Video footage of the incident showed a tow truck lifting the car up into the air from the basement level of the building, supervised by police officers.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
