Woman and dog rescued from slurry pit in Newmachar

A woman and a dog have been rescued after getting trapped in a slurry pit in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services were called to the pit containing farming waste near Kingseat Road in Newmachar shortly before 17:00 on Monday.

“We were alerted to reports of a person and a dog stuck in a slurry pit,” the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed.

The woman and dog were rescued, and the casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service to be checked over at the scene.
