Woman, 65, critical after mobility scooter crash

A woman is critically ill after her mobility scooter was involved in a crash with a BMW.

Police said the 65-year-old suffered serious injuries in the incident, which happened on Waggon Road, Ayr, at about 14:15 on Friday.

The woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about the collision between the blue scooter and a blue 5 series car to come forward, external.

The BMW driver was not injured.

Sgt Chris Hoggans said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstance and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“We are also asking people to check their dash cam and private CCTV to see if they have captured anything that could help with our investigation.”
