Wind warning in Scotland as Storm Bert continues for a third day

Sepa has warned low lying areas along the coast between Ayr and Troon are vulnerable to flooding at high tide and river flooding is a risk in Strathglass and Moy Bridge.

Orkney’s Churchill Barriers are also subject to a flood warning as Storm Bert continues.

The storm brought traffic problems over the weekend with disruption to public transport and the cancellation of sporting fixtures.

The Queensferry Crossing across the Firth of Forth was closed for the first time since 2021 due to the threat of falling ice on Saturday.

The 1.7 mile (2.7km) M90 motorway crossing was shut for more than 15 hours because of the “highly unusual weather event“.
