“It’s time, as a club, we turn the corner. We need everyone for that – we need the supporters as well, the team needs them.

“I understand things are difficult, not everything is perfect, we are conceding too many goals, but we’re on the wrong end of a bit of luck for the moment. We need to start creating the luck.”

Still, whose side host seventh-placed Preston North End on Saturday, said his squad had shared “a few ugly and honest truths” in the wake of defeat at Ewood Park against a side a place below them in the table.

But the 33-year-old added: “It’s not a time for finger-pointing, it’s the football club as a whole.
