What’s behind Morocco’s ‘Gen Z protests’?

Dozens of young demonstrators have been arrested for a fifth day running in cities across Morocco.

As before, a heavy police presence in the capital Rabat and other cities including Casablanca and Agadir largely thwarted the youth protests against corruption and for better health and education.

As in some other countries there’s been a “Gen Z” angle to Morocco’s protest movement, with a loose group called “GenZ-212” organising them online.
