Welsh Secretary David TC Davies accused of breaking ministerial code

The video was shared on 8 May, just hours before plans to expand the Senedd from 60 to 96 seats were voted through.

In the clip, Mr Davies said: “Do they [Welsh Labour] want to spend £120m on Welsh taxpayers’ money on creating dozens of extra Senedd members in Cardiff Bay?

“Or would they prefer to spend that money on employing more nurses, doctors, dentists and teachers?”

He added: “I know which side I’m on.”

Labour believe the location of the filming is a breach of the ministerial code, which states: “Ministers are provided with facilities at government expense to enable them to carry out their official duties.

“These facilities should not generally be used for party or constituency activities.”

Shadow Welsh Secretary Jo Stevens said this type of behaviour needed to be “swept away”.
