Watch: Kent man, 80, skates 100 miles every week

An 80-year-old man who regularly skates 100 miles every week has said he has no plans to slow down or stop.

Maurice Newman, from Herne Bay, has been regularly participating in inline skating for the past 20 years.

He said he hoped to be “really good” at skating by the age of 90 and wants to continue with the sport “until the end”.

He said: “When I’m skating I’m a child. I’m free. I don’t have any worries.”
