Watch: Crews tackle fire at former Glasgow hospice

Firefighters have been tackling a large blaze at the former Prince and Princess of Wales hospice building in the centre of Glasgow.

The fire broke out at the derelict property on Carlton Place, on the south bank of the River Clyde, at about 20:00.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews with a height appliance doused flames that ripped through the roof of the four-storey terrace.

The historic B-listed property has been unoccupied since 2018, when a new £21m hospice opened in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park.

Filmed by Paul Hastie.
