The Air National Guard has been deployed to tackle a new wildfire that erupted in Los Angeles County.
The Hughes Fire grew to more than 10,000 acres in several hours on Wednesday 22 January, fuelled by winds and dry brush.
The California Fire Department has called the blaze an “immediate threat to life”.
