Van driver dies six days after A90 crash

A 76-year-old man who died six days after his van collided with a lorry on the A90 at Brechin has been named as George Reid from Dundee.

The incident happened on the southbound carriageway of the Aberdeen to Dundee road at about 14:45 on 14 March.

Mr Reid was taken to hospital following the collision, but died on Thursday morning.

The driver of the lorry did not require medical treatment.

The road was closed for almost seven hours to allow crash investigators to conduct inquiries.

PC Liam Pattie said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of George Reid at this difficult time.

“Our inquiries are ongoing and I would again appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us with any information.”
