UFC 304: Leon Edwards to face Belal Muhammad and Tom Aspinall to take on Curtis Blaydes

Britain’s Leon Edwards and Tom Aspinall will defend their titles at UFC 304 in Manchester on 27 July.

Welterweight champion Edwards, 32, will face American Belal Muhammad in the main event at Co-op Live Arena.

Interim heavyweight title holder Aspinall, 31, will take on American Curtis Blaydes in the co-main event.

Both bouts are rematches, with Edwards facing Muhammad in 2021 and Aspinall taking on Blaydes the following year.

Edwards’ bout was deemed a no contest following an accidental eye poke from the Birmingham fighter, while Manchester’s Aspinall suffered defeat after injuring his knee in the first round.

Edwards, who last fought in December, outpointing Colby Covington, will be making the third defence of his title and looking to extend his 13-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC.

Muhammad, 35, beat Gilbert Burns in May and is unbeaten in 10 fights.

Aspinall, in what is a rare move by the UFC, will defend the interim belt he won against Sergei Pavlovich in December with the UFC planning to pitch injured champion Jon Jones against Stipe Miocic later this year, when he has recovered.

Blaydes, 33, comes into the bout with Aspinall after stopping Jailton Almeida in March.
