Two men injured in ship explosion at Limerick port

Two men have been seriously injured after an explosion on a ship in County Limerick in the Republic of Ireland.

It happened at Shannon Foynes Port on Tuesday evening.

Irish broadcaster RTÉ reported that the men were carrying out routine maintenance on the ship when a gas cylinder exploded at about 18:30.

Emergency services, including gardaí (Irish police) and paramedics, attended the scene and two men were taken to hospital.
